Fairwell, Dougie??

Okay..

So Delgado's gone to the Marlins, and supposedly we're sending Doug Mientkiewicz off to the Mets for a guy called Ian Bladergroen. (The link is here...umm, bladder-groin?? err, I'm sure that's not how you read it.....) I am NOT too happy about this. I just loved watching Dougie play first base, he's one of the people who made me really look forward to watching defensive highlights much more than all those HR's and K's etc. I really hope that the whole "Ballgate" thing has nothing to do with this, and I hope Dougie doesn't leave with any hard feelings. Sure, Millar hits more home runs and whatever, I don't know what's best for the team.....oh well, I'll put my trust in Theo once more. Red Sox are really shipping off that 2004 team, aren't they? What percent of it is actually left? The home opener and banner/ring ceremony will be pretty sad.....I couldn't wait to see it happen with the never-ending standing O, and the big smiles on the face of the players, but now I'm not sure it'll be nearly as great.

Ahh...Dougie, you will be sorely missed (by me, at least). You were part of our 2004 World Series Champion team, and I'll never forget those dives, stretches and splits at first base. I hope you have a much better season in 2005 at Shea, say hi to Petey for us.

Oh, and I say...hold on to that ball, man. This ball issue is getting dumber by the day. I hope it'll be seen in the HoF some day, though. You'll do that, won't you?

Tickets! Tickets!!!

Red Sox Tickets are going on sale through the phone and internet on January 29th, Saturday at 10am EST. that's 7am here.....arrrgh. At this point, I don't even know if going to Boston is realistic for me, so I'm just going to sulk here and try to find out when Anaheim is gonna start selling tickets.

Oh, and did I mention that ARod(aka Slappy) is the biggest whiner I have ever seen? Talk about being stupid and bitter. And it took him 3 months to get over that loss and try to make something out of it. Boy, if you've got time to whine like that, why don't u just go shovel some snow at Yankee Stadium or something.

Whose Ball is it??

This baseball talk is just the stupidest thing ever. It must be January, huh.

I hope this isn't some ploy to get fans to not like Dougie, cuz I love watching him play first base. Why did he talk to CHB in the first place??? Well, he's learned his lesson on that, I suppose. I don't know who's gonna be our starting first baseman for 2005 (although I'm somewhat more partial to Dougie than Millar.......who knows? it could be someone completely new) but I hope this isn't something that'll influence the decision or the club chemistry.

Talking of club chemistry, I think it's probably gonna be pretty different, anyway. especially the three new SP we have. Hmmm....

Here we go......2005

Here it is. I've finally started it. Being in an art school in California, rather than driving myself crazy trying to get ppl around me interested I've decided to settle for this. A Red Sox Blog, where I'll ramble on about the team, the games, and everything Red Sox (maybe other MLB stuff too, if it's interesting enough). I'm no expert on baseball stats, history or trivia, but I absolutely love the Red Sox and I reckon that'll give me enough to talk about.

As a Red Sox fan, I watch every single game(mostly thanks to MLB.tv since I'm no longer within driving distance to Fenway), and 2004 has made me a very, very, happy person. But it's already been a while since October 27, 2004 and now we're already quite a different team. Pedro, DLowe, and OC are gone, we've got quite a different rotation now, and our bench is quite unrecognizable. Yankees are getting Randy Johnson, but I think we'll manage just fine. The most we'll ever see him in the regular season is what, 5 times or so? I think our 2005 team looks pretty good so far, I'll still enjoy highlights from October in the meantime.

2005 is here. Do it again, Red Sox!!!
